I have an older .243 tang safety flat bolt w/red pad it has the heavy barrel.
I need to put a 8-25x50 scope that I have on it.
The old Ruger scope rings are much too short.
What size rings will work best to clear this barrel?
Also where is there a good place to buy these rings?
Thanks

If it's the heavy barrel (varmint) model, and you're trying to fit a scope with a 50mm objective, you will need a 5B front ring and a 6B rear ring. You can order them directly from Ruger.

I ordered the rings from Midway but after a few months ordered from Ruger but still on back order.
Why are these rings hard to get?

An alternative to Ruger Rings. I've used a few sets and have no complaints.

The Ruger rings have two screws per side. The Leupold rings have one screw per side.
But the Leupold looks to be avalable.
Thanks
