Of the commanders listed he was. Nimitz was not on the list.

Possible grammatical error.
(3) Davy Crocket helped to defend the Alamo during the Texas War for Independence not the Mexican War.
Some call it that.
I sure hope that guy or gal is not teaching today's children!

Not defending the writer, just saying that you might be a bit too nit picky.
