A friend of mine just traded for an Old Model Super BlackHawk in the 70xx range. No prefix and four digits. I kind of remember the long frame guns had a "C" stamped on them, or on their grips but I haven't been able to find that information again.
what is the serial # range for the OM SBH long frame guns?

Looks like your friends SBH was made in 1961. The long frames ranged from ser.# 4 to 1463

I think the highest long frame number was 3111...or close to that..

As Mike has stated the Long frames go up in to the low 3000 serial # range. The highest I have seen is #2957 & #2947.

gosh I just found a LONG FRAME LEFT GRIP PANEL.....possibly the only part able to slip thru the well known UTAH security system.....cost me 3 dollars.....that's if ya don't count the 50 dollars of fuel 3 for parking 20 for the 2 of us to get in and another 20 for food on the way home.....didn't even count the day of work.....WOW that is an expensive GRIP PANEL......see ya RR.
