The 257 roberts was nice but I think the "high polish" blue is BS. I think he used a 1/2 can of WD40.I could be wrong though.

I just got a new #1 in 30-40 Krag and I can personally assure you that the "high polished blue" is not BS.

Thats good to know.I knew Ruger had put a high polish finish on the 30/40 Krag.I glad to hear thats a option on other no.1's

AFAIK, only the Boddington rifles got the phony sprayed on finish, although a few regular production rifles have been reported with the bad finish.
