here 'n there
I have alot of WC 820 powder. It's new. Does anyone have a good target load for 44 mag, 240 gr LSWC. I use Unique and w231 now, but would like alternative loads in case. Now I'm using 8 grs of Unique for 240/lswc, 5.5 grs of w231/lswc. I do now the lot No. of my 820 is similar to aa#9. I have used wc820 for 357 loads and they are full power loads. Also need to hear any 41 mag loads using WC820. Can't find any data. Thanks BHK 8)

You should be able to locate data for AA#9 in the .44 Mag. Lyman lists a MAX load of around 20 grains with a nominal 240 grain SWC. WC820 works best at high-pressure loads, so I wouldn't go too much lower than that.

I have used 40 pounds of wc820, all the same lot number. I am working on my last jug from that. I do have some with a different lot # and it mirrors 2400.
I have shot a fair amount of aa#9 but never went below a listed starting load. Have used both with heavy for cartridge cast bullet loads (30-20). Even tried some subsonic stuff with no pressure signs. YMMV

Depends on the lot. There are three common lots in use now. My WC820 uses loads 10% below H110. Some use AA 9 data. You can find more info here; http://castboolits.gunloads.com/forumdisplay.php?28-Canister-amp-Surplus-Powder You may have to do a search for "WC 820 loads"

google your lot number and you'll find information on which loading data to use. WC820 is not a fast powder, and is not suitable for light target loads.
