What's the value of a bright stainless, fixed sight, single six with 5-1/2" barrel with both cylinders in immaculate condition without box and papers? The gun store I work at PT got in what I believe is a GKNR5F-I (you wouldn't believe what they got it for, and unfortunately I'm not "allowed" to buy it (or I'm way down on the list since I wasn't there, otherwise it WOULD be mine). I told them what I thought its worth (minimum) and I want to see how close I am.

It's got faux ivory grips, but they may not believe the original (no Ruger emblams). Serial number is 268-063xx which according to what I read on this forum is correct for its description and is within the known range of SSs for the "Avis group" (I assume that's a distributor?). Warning label is on the side of the barrel not underneath so it's not a cleanup gun.

Thanks!!

I would say in the $400-$450 range, maybe a bit more since it has a 5 1/2" barrel. Here is a 6 1/2" that recently sold: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=469395402

I have seen more of the GFNR6F-I sell than the GKNR5F-I version. I believe the I suffix stands for Ivory (faux) grips.

I have a couple of both the GFNR6F-I and GKNR5F-I single sixes that I purchased new when they were in production. I believe I paid just under $450 for each of them.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! They asked me to price it since I "collect" (accumulate) Single Sixes.

I told them $400, glad I was spot on.

Sir,
Edited my reply after re-reading your post,,
With out the box and paper work you will need a letter from Ruger to confirm it.

The GKNR5-FI was a special distributor model (Avis Group) with a total of 1,206 produced in 1995, it should have the Ruger Scrimshaw grips.
Serial # range, 268-05150 through 268-08118, info RENE. My gun is #268-05184

I have one of GKNR5-FI NIB and I value it at $500.00 - $600.00, I value a 1st run GKNR5-F with the early "Ruger Single-Six .22 Cal." roll mark at $650.00 - $700.00.
As a note I deduct 30% off any gun missing it's box and paper work.

Hope this helps,
Terry
