USPS...one more time..Update

It's not out of the question that you may still get it. USPS absolutely demands that packages get scanned every time they are handled. Unfortunately, which option gets selected for the scan is up to the user, and "delivered" is the default. Out of curiosity, does Lexington Kentucky have a zip code similar to yours? Like the first number being different?

They both start with 4 but all the rest are different.
I filed a on-line claim with the post office. Yesterday I got a call from our local office which was a surprise they even called.
Nice lady basically said "sorry for your luck" that we think we sent it to someplace in Kentucky instead of Michigan...nothing
we can do about it...have a nice day. That part of the deal was not a surprise.
Fenix has a 5 day waiting period before they'll do something...I'll call em next week and see how it goes, package had some kind of insurance
on it, was a $3.00 charge on my invoice, it'll sort out eventually.

Yes, Fenix has a mandatory fee for shipping insurance. I've been charged either $2 or $3 depending on the amount of the order. Even that fee has the 10% or 20% applied. Fenix has a great reputation, so I'm sure they'll make good on it.

Still, it's a PITA having a shipment bounce all over the place.

Update to this...First off, yes the Post Office still sucks!
Second, Fenix seems to have it together, was contacted via phone then sent an e-mail
with a link to attest that I didn't receive the light. They will be sending a replacement.
I have 5 of their lights in various places, with that kind of service will have more as needed.

Glad it's working out for you!

Unfortunately, the USPS has more interest in checking the "problem resolved" box, than actually fixing the problem. The "nice lady" did her job, so everyone is happy. Nevermind that the whole system is broken!

Fed ex delivered a priority package to me yesterday. The sender called me late afternoon to ask if I had received it. Sender said they were notified that it was delivered. I searched all the usual places and finally found it placed on a pile of trash and old boxes on the carport, pretty well camouflaged.
USPS isn’t much better as they usually leave packages in plain sight at a front door we never use.

I have three priory packages on the way, one got delivered late and the other two are late with no tracking update.

The latest incident with the post service for me is sending a Postal MO Priority Mail to Jamison, Pa. Mailed on 11-7-23. On 11-30-23 tracked the package. Here is the response: Your item has been tendered to the return agent on 11-28-23. The postal service no longer has the item and no further updates are expected. The item was somewhere in New Jersey and had bounced around to three different places. Call our local PO, and they tell me it is being returned. What a CF!! Call the place that has the barrel and give them a credit card number. After the barrel was shipped, 3 days later the freaking MO shows up!!!!!! Nice people called me and said they would return it to me. This is the 7th time the PO has lost money orders for me, AND, you have to wait 60 days before they will refund your money. What a cluster they have become, and it seems no one in the system cares!!!!!!!!!

I've generally had excellent results with the USPS. While I still ran a small business much of my product was mailed within a 60 mile radius. I'd probably do 150-200 mailings a month worth up to about $1,000. I believe I had 2 customers who more than once told me they didn't get the package, always around $30--same 2 people, riiight. I cured it. I told them that apparently the USPS has difficulty delivering to their address and that from now on they'd have to come to me to buy anything. Cured that! LOL It was them, not the USPS.

About 5 years ago I bought a $900+ gun off Gunbroker. As I always do, I sent a USPS MO out the next day from the post office. I always take a pic of the MO and the address on the envelope in case there's a problem. I get an email in a week--no MO. I sent her the pics and the address was fine. She said to give it another week. Nope. I told her I'd get a bank check out the next day. It arrived and I got my Colt.

1 day short of a year I got an email saying my MO had arrived and if I wanted her to send it back to me. I said no that it had already been cancelled and I got my $ back--60 DAYS after I sent it!

That ↑ is the only real problem I've ever had with the USPS, knock wood.

UPS delivers it a day late and throws it in the garage corner and I don't find it for a month.

Fedex delivers it on time but the package is damaged.

USPS delivers it a day early and if the postal worker sees me she waves. It's always on the front porch and she rings the bell so I know its here.

Amazon always delivers it early and its an ok delivery.

With all the USPS bashing and with my PERFECT service, all I can say is that your delivery person must be Neuman.

I decided to do an AR build. I got the receiver locally (NICS and all that), but ordered a bunch of other parts online. Some shipped Fedex, some UPS and the rest USPS. All parts were ordered on the same day.

Fedex was thrown on the porch in the rain. USPS was delivered with a doorbell ring, a day early. UPS isn't here yet.

One thing I learned tracking a wayward package. They toss a bunch of packages in a bin heading in the right direction. While it is in the bin the individual package isn’t being tracked. Its number is tied to the bin number.

My package was in a bin, made it my PO, but got overlooked when they unloaded it. Then it cruised all over the state. Disappeared and then showed up with no newer scans.

"Priority" mail has become a total joke, and a waste of money IMO. They should just rename it "It'll get there when it gets there" mail. I've had at least a dozen packages in the last year alone, that just sit around in some nearby facility for 2-3 days before someone finally gets off their duff and does their job of heading them to the proper destination. It's pathetic! 😡

Express shipping of any sort by the USPS is simply a suggestion. One often ignored, and they will NOT refund money when they fail to provide the service they have contracted to provide. Hey, isn't that fraud?

You hit a nerve... Here in so. Florida the below happens to me at least once a month. This should have been a 2 day trip.
