I have a 1970 Blackhawk in 357 that at sometime was sent back for the recall/conversion, they sent back all the original parts in a little bag. Are there any videos out there showing how to put the original parts back in?
Thanks in advance.

Never did this, but what I would do, is take the gun apart and then lay out the original parts from the little bag. Next, go to YouTube and search for "three screw Ruger Blackhawk disassembly/reassembly" videos. You might have to use different search terms, but you will find one. Then follow the instructions on how to put an original unaltered one back together. It should show you every peice and where it goes. Watch the video a few times before attempting and it is best to have it on you phone, tablet, computer right in front of you while you are holding/working on the pistol. My understanding is, it is just putting back the original peices, and no special tools or any modifications are needed. When I took apart my Ruger Standard Auto, Mk II I had heard horror stories about reassembly mishaps. I watched the video about 8 times, had it on in front of while working, and the it worked flawlessly.

If you have ever had an OM apart it's easy, just use a GOOD screwdriver and go slow as not to slip and scratch your gun or bugger up the screws, they can be kinda soft.
I'm sure there are vid's on youtube.
Good luck,

Cheers,

It’s not hard,,,
,,, But we really have no idea of your capacity/ capabilities.
You do have a wealth of enthusiast’s here that can get you over any hurdle.
It is very simple, and I think it is a good idea to proceed slowly, add each part and observe, learn each’s function.

The one thing that most get hung up on is; The spring that works the bolt. It is captured/ loaded, by a leg that goes into the side of the cylinder frame, unload it before pulling the screw that keeps it & the bolt (cylinder latch) in place. I you can’t figure it out just make sure you have a towel over it before you pull the screw. It does go flying & lost easily,,,, IF NOT unloaded first.
Putting it back in,,, Screw thru the bolt & spring and then a small driver pushing it down the side of the cylinder frame to get the leg to catch. This procedure done with the screw in place keeps it from flying…😜

I've restored several to their former glory, and as mentioned above, it's quite easy.
Myself, I'd much rather work on any OM Ruger than a PITA NM!
WHY anyone would return an OM to Ruger for the "upgrade." Only to get it back with an action similar to that of an Arrow staple gun...Is a total and complete mystery to me? 🤔

Just did what you are asking. I could not find any You tube videos on it. If i did find one all the parts showing the old model were removed.
However they are easy to work on and simple. You should not have any problems. Just go slow and get the correct screw drivers so you don't mess up any finishes in the screw holes. Get a set of gunsmith screw drivers or bits, well worth it.
PS- you only need to changeout 4 parts-the rest of the screws are duplicates.

It’s very easy to do, BUT it is also very easy to make a mistake. To begin with, if you don’t have the CORRECT screwdrivers, you WILL scratch the grip frame which WILL SHOW FOREVER. I am very happy with this set https://ads.midwayusa.com/product/1...MI9qHKgeX0iAMVha9aBR2ypjxFEAQYBiABEgLVrPD_BwE
If you’re going to be into firearms, buy or Birthday, Christmas or Father’s Day a set of screwdriver's, BEST firearms accessory you can start with.

Rugers disassembly/assembly videos are also on YouTube, and they are easy to find, at least what I have searched for there has been..

Then go to Revolver Tech Tips,, 19 videos,, then look for the Old Army.

This is all under tge drop down MENU at the top right of the home page.

Lots of good video's….🧐

Good info. It's a shame they don't provide a direct link to the videos on the main website . . . at least I don't find one. Your link works of course. Thanks. 😁
