Got in trade from a member who said it hadn't been fired--so i fired it.
Put 50 rounds thru her.
Comes with original wood display case which interior has deteriorated.
Also comes with a generic blue S&W carry case. Asking $900 or equivilent in trades. Interested in just about any high end handguns or midrange handguns plus cash. Not interested in any handgun larger than a .44 mag. Not interested in rifles or shotguns.

Barrel length is 3 3/4 inch.

You have to measure barrel length from the end of the barrel all the way down to the beginning of the forcing cone. Basically to the front of the cylinder minus the BC! Which means it is a four inch gun.

And S&W's have "dash numbers." Open the cylinder and look at the markings on the inside which were covered up by the crane. It should say "M57-1" and then the serial number underneath. If it just says "M57" then it is a first model or "dash zero." Then it would also be P&R. More likely it is a -1 or -2, etc.

If you post the serial number, one of us will be happy to date it for you. If you are concerned about such things, just X out the last couple of digits. Like "N2349xx."

You sure aren't going to get that kind of money without more details and some good pictures.

Yup, it's a 4 inch barrel.

It's just a plain old model 57 (no dash, no additional info above the sn)

Serial number is N125379. Yes, I'd like any info you can provide based on that number.

I've got pictures on several other sites but I just can't figure out this site.
I'm asking a lot of money because I think it's worth a lot of money. Could be wrong. I was once. (maybe twice) Anyway, if anyones interested in buying or trading, send me your e-mail and I'll send some pic's.

Looks like it was made in 1973.

Since it is a no-dash, that does make it more valuable. (-1 guns were introduced in 1982.)

Your gun has an N serial number. The smaller amount that were made from introduction (1964) through 1968 are the most sought after. They will have a serial number that starts with an S and should have diamond grips. In 1969 they dropped the diamond grips and went to the N serial number.

Now we just need some pics that can be posted here to have a complete picture of what you are selling!
