I have been sitting on this one via Steve's advice, as it's part of the research for the TLA/Grover book in the making, and is SO FAR the only known transitional .45 Colt #5. As of last count, only 16 TLA #5 revolvers in .45 Colt have been discovered via the book research project, and as those of you in the loop know, Steve's resources are quite extensive, including all the documents turned over to him by the family of the late Bill Grover. We can't say for sure this is the only one, but it's the only one Steve has ever seen. As far as what makes it a transitional gun, we won't know that until the book comes out. Steve simply guarantees this one is, but will not divulge what makes it one. I've decided not to sit on it any longer. I want to either sell it and free up the money for other customs or trade for one. All that said, I'm posting it here first for $3500 shipped. I am also willing to consider trades. I'm interested in other customs like maybe a 4 3/4 .500 Linebaugh or others by John or Bowen. May consider others. If someone takes it for the $3500 shipped it's sold, but I'll listen to trade offers until that happens. Anyone who is SERIOUSLY interested can get more pics upon request.
