I have a Ruger #1V in 223 Rem that I find no use for. It is a very good shooter but the caliber is not something I use much. I prefer to shoot cast bullets so I am looking to trade for a single shot with a larger bore and open sights that will be better for that purpose. Not looking or relics, but a good shooter in a quality single shot. I would like to stay with a caliber I load for like 30-30, 308, 30-06, 280, 358, 35 Whelen, 357Mag or Max, 44Mag, 38-55, 375 Win, but I am open to others. The .223 #1v is in excellent condition less than 300 rounds thru it. Metal is better than 95%, wood has minor bumps that won't show in pics taken with my camera. Made in the early 2000's with 1/12" twist. It is the middle #1 in the pic. I can take more pics if needed, standard rings come with it... the scope can be included if needed to make the right deal...its an older Leupold 3.5x10, I think.

I bought this 223 #1v from my shooting buddy who shot it a couple of times and with a good powerful Leupold scope and a good rest shot tight groups under an inch if I recall correctly at 200 yds. Home made ammo of course.

Another pic, this Leupold 24x semi-target scope can be included in the right deal. It has been back to Leupold for reticle change so this semi-blind man can use it.

Did I mention that this rifle has a custom adjustable trigger? I can't remember the name of the maker but I think it was made in Idaho and I could find out the name if anybody is interested...

Chief 101,

Here's another option to think about, a rebore and rechambering to one of your favorite cals. I had Jesse Ocumpaugh from Oregon do a few barrels for me and I am most pleased with them. He charges $200 which includes shipping the rifle back to you.

My next rifle to receive Jesse's treatment will be a Ruger No. 1 whch is now chambered for the 25-06 and will come back home to PA chambered for the 444 Marlin.

Good luck to you whether you sell or rechamber your 223.

Frank

I have used Jesse, in fact, just sold a rifle he rebored for me... this morning. He does a bang-up job. A rebored #1 would have less value than if factory correct and I don't know what caliber I would select. When I bought this rifle I intended to have it rechambered it to 22-250Win, but then I would have 3 of the same caliber to keep ammo separated. Its such an accurate shooter, didn't want to spoil it. Thanks for the idea

I forgot to price this in case somebody wants it but don't have a trade. I think $725 plus shipping directly to ffl dealer, and that normally is about 25 bucks in the lower 47
