A couple of weeks ago, I watched a guy so busy with his cell phone that he walked right into a pillar in the aisle of a grocery store head first. Damn near knocked his arse out. You could hear that "coconut sound" nice n clear. Another guy helped him up... I just muttered "dumb @$$" and kept going....
I was talking to friend who is on the volunteer fire dept about a head on crash that was just down the way. He said this one was a drunk,... but they get at least three a week where the crash is caused because the driver is effing with a cell phone. Is it a car/truck..... or a phone booth?

You should live in a college town, just about every college kid is only able to use one hand because they HAVE to be able to see their cell phone at all times, doesn't matter if they are walking, driving, whatever. Half of the kids are driving and texting, I don't know how many times I've seen someone blow thru a red light while looking at their phone, or when the light changes just sitting there looking down at their phone.

An illegitimacy rate of 40% and a high divorce rate doesn't help.
I've mentioned this before, but I was talking to a security guard at a facility I visit often. He tell me to take a look at one of his monitors. Fellow is walking along completely oblivious to anything but his phone. Walks right into an orange electric cart with a flat bed. Does a face plant full on, bloody nose and all. The guard looks at me as says "the walking dead".
It's so true that I use the term all the time now. Oh, lest you think it was some young kid, nope 50+ year old engineer. Apparently cell phone induced stupidity knows no age restriction.
And yes, it ended up with a full on EH&S investigation. The guard was in full on Sgt. Shultz mode when then ask if he saw anything.
