You can get a Single Six as an OLD Model.
Some complained about timing or lock up problems with 10 shot cylinder I think.
What about the Single Nine ?? Any reports about problems with that one ? I have never even seen a Single Nine.......I just saw a Single Ten in a GS not too far away from me, and that was only the first, maybe the second one of those that I saw. Sure looked nice.

I have other .22 lr and .22 long revolvers so I usually keep the .22 Magnum cylinder in my Single Six. I like pairing it with my Ruger 10/22M (no longer made) or my Henry lever action. Makes for a fun day at the range.

Yes, I really enjoy my Single Six (6" barrel). I shoot mostly LR but always take the mag cylinder and shoot a few also. Yes, the mags are more expensive but they are fun to shoot. At my age I can't tell the difference in accuracy. While carrying in the woods I usually alternate shot shells and .22lr just in case I come across a bad attitude cotton mouth.

Although I have both the .22 LR and .22 WMR cylinders, I have chosen to shoot my Single Six with the .22 WMR exclusively. The reason is that I have so many other firearms chambered for .22 LR.

The .22 magnum is accurate and pleasant to shoot - it lets you know you're shooting something with a bit more power.

I use CCI Maxi-Mags.
Looks very much like mine. Nice!

Like a previous response, I use the Mag cylinder exclusively in my 2 Single sixes, a 5.5" SS model and 9.5" Blued model. The 9.5" is hands down my most accurate 22 revolver, mag or LR. I use LR in a few S&W kit guns and semi autos. Bill in MA

I guess you are shooting the CCI Shot Shells ?? Those are the only ones I've seen, around here anyway. How are those Shot Shells ?? Do they work pretty well for you ? I actually have them and also in 38, and in 9mm, but have not shot them yet.

I have a single nine. Shoots great and I got it for a song because it needed a new pawl. Love the fiberoptic front sight.

I shoot these a good bit. Usually I alternate,3 and 3 because they are good on snakes and also carpenter bees. I don't shoot them as much as I used to simply because they aren't as cheap as they once were.

Yeah, nothing is as cheap as it was. And when you think about, when we bought way back when, we didn't really think it was cheap then. Speaking for myself anyway ......I just tried to buy it at the right place at the best price available. Not now. Ammo is high, but I walk right by it when I see it at a Bass Pro or a Big 5......when the laws last changed, I made a point to buy a lot just before the darn laws and regulations took effect. I will probably have to buy more ammo down the road but not for a while. Besides I'm getting older and won't be going as much as before. But I'm going to retire at end of the year, and look forward to shoot more. That's the plan !! 🙂👍

I have never used the .22 magnum cylinder for my Ruger Super Single-six revolver and most likely never will. One handgun that I owned that I really enjoyed shooting .22 magnum cartridges in was my Thompson Center Contender with a 10 inch heavy barrel. That thing was a ball to shoot and accuracy was pretty decent also.

Yes, CCI Shot Shells. They are ok as long as you are close to the target. However I have not shot any snakes with them.
