Materials tech has come a long way in the last few years. This 3d printed tubulane polymer looks very promising.

Interesting, but I'd sure like to have some specifics as to type(s) of projectiles. Also take into account that any projo intended as anti-armor or anti-tank is going to be Depleted Uranium.

Air pressure. At Arnold Engineering here in Tn, is an museum showing what a frozen pea at 25,000 FPS will do to a 1/4 inch plate steel utilizing air pressure. The pea blew an quarter sized hole in it!!!

Many high energy labs have the equipment to fire hyper velocity projectiles. 19,000fps = 17.47mach.

Pictured below are UDRI's two-stage light-gas gun ranges for hypervelocity testing. The larger two-stage, light-gas gun can be configured into a 75/30/7.62 mm three stage, light-gas gun (the world's fastest) that can launch spherical projectiles to over 10 km/sec.
