Where the debris meets the sea
Posting this for a buddy that bought a Super Redhawk in 44 mag that has a scope with rings with it...the rings are missing some sort of flat adapter base that mounts to the revolver...they are not the correct rings as they are blued and the gun is stainless...His scope has a 1" tube and I think it is a Simmons (not a high priced scope). Where should he look to get a set of rings that will fit the Redhawk without some sort of "adapter base"...I have no idea about mounting a scope on a revolver so just trying to direct him where to look....I'm sure there are after market stainless rings that would be available at prices that are affordable...he's a plinker and not a hunter.

Thanks for any suggestions

Super Redhawks use the M 77 rings. There are a bunch for sale on Ebay or I am sure a Forum member will have a set you could buy. However if you want to use a base and Weaver or Picatinny rings check here.

I just noticed I probably posted in the wrong section...sorry...I don' t know how to move it so if the mods want to move it please do so...again, sorry.

opos,
The rings that came with my SRH would not hold the scope worth a darn. When I lapped them I found out the front ring had maybe 10% contact and rear 25%. I lapped them until they had 70-75% contact. Should hold now.
