I sent in my LCRx 3" to Ruger on the 27th, February, to have the cylinder fixed. (wouldn't lock up)
I just got an email from UPS that the pistol was picked up today and is on the way back. WOW!
Of all my Rugers, (14) this is the first one I have ever had to send back.
Now that is what I call service!

I called yesterday for a return label and was told they are not backed up it it should be back in a week.

Happy that your issue is being resolved, but

REALLY great service would be getting it right the first time and not depending on customers to be QC inspectors. :D

Best Regards,

I sent my LCR to them (I broke it, not a defect), and they took care of the repair and I got it back in 10 days. They really do have great service.

Just for a comparison, I bought a Kimber 1911 mid December 2016 and right out of the box had failure after failure. I returned it to Kimber a few days later. It was returned the end of January but still would not work so I sent it back again. Here it is early March and still not back.

In contrast, I caller Ruger about my SR1911 CMD 9 mags being hard to load on a Tuesday. They sent me two new mags and a prepaid envelope to return the bad mags that I got on Saturday the same week. Granted an easier fix, but that is not unusual service from Ruger.

I find out now that is not unusual service from Kimber either.

Just saying...

I've only had 2 interactions with Ruger CS and both were very positive. I find it especially remarkable that they are able to maintain a CS department that is (apparently) staying ahead of the huge growth in sales Ruger has experienced the past few years. Most companies are usually playing CS catch up when they start shipping a lot of new stuff.

Interesting, please define your "failure". Did you eliminate ammo mfg? Is this your first 1911? Is .45 ACP your normal cartridge?. Failure - was click, no bang? extraction failure? jammed brass? What? What?

"Failure" is a pretty broad term. I avoid dissing a firearm with generic dismissal terms. In my personal opinion, I would appreciate a post that describes "Failure" in a lot more detail.

Yeah I'd normally give details but since the purpose of my post was to give a comparison of CS, not troubleshoot my problem I left out the failure details.

It is a 9mm not a 45. I tried 7 different factory loads and tried over 400 rounds with multiple FTE and cases stuck in the chamber. Issue is a chamber that is really rough, almost threaded. This one is one of 5 1911's I shoot regularly. 1911's and I go back over 30 years.

And the Kimber CS solution/resolution was??

AND!! why is this particular response in a Ruger revolvers thread???

Tough bunch today.

I understood, he was just comparing Ruger's quick customer service as opposed to another manufacturers very slow customer service, and gave a brief example of how long he's waited, and is still waiting.

MIshooter, I agree. I've been spoiled by Rugers quick turn around. The most recent CS I received from a another manufacturer recently, took over two months.

WAYNO.

Like was said, my post was only meant as a comparison of CS from other mfgs. Ruger beats all comers IMHO based on a lot of dealings over the last 30+ years.

And yes, stiiiiiiiiiiiiiiill waiting on brand K.
