My favorite was a Case "Finn 3" with a bone handle that my Grandma McFarlane gave me in 1950 when I was seven. She always said "What kind of a man is a Scotsman without a sticker in his sock?" Of course we never carried them in our socks, but I still have that little sticker and the blade has developed a kind of reverse curved edge from so many sharpenings of the carbon steel. No better fish/bird/bunny knife was ever made, IMO.
Mine's gone thru three sheaths.
The next year I got a "Dinkytoys" die cast model of a Gloster "Meteor" that I kept for many years until it was lost in a move.
This year my wife, my kid, and his novia are getting some pebbles of Wyoming jade I picked up on a rock hunting trip with my brother this summer. They are pocket sized and feel even better than they look. (Cheap tranquilizers--I carry a stream-polished chunk of fossil ivory for its calming feel....).
