Here is one you will not see every day. If ever.
This is a new in box, unfired (except by factory) stainless Virginian Dragoon Silhouette in .41 Magnum. The Dragoon Silhouette model featured 10.5" heavy barrels, deep crowned muzzle, target sights and both oversized rubber and well-fitted wood grips. This revolver came to me 10 years ago from the estate on a .41 Magnum collector and it has some interesting characteristics. This model/caliber/finish combination was only offered for one year - in the 1983 catalogue. Both the catalogue and the hand-lettered label on the box show a 10.5" barrel. However, a tape from the end of the barrel to the front face of the cylinder shows 10". I have never seen another stainless .41 Silhouette and wonder if the original owner bought a pre-production model before the barrel length was standardized.
The fit and finish is outstanding - clearly some attention was lavished on the production of this model. The revolver came to me in the box in the plastic bag with the hanging tag still affixed to the trigger guard, all papers, extra grips and a cardboard shipping case stamped with "The Virginian Dragoon - Interarms", the serial number, caliber, barrel length (10.5"!) and catalog number on the side. The hard case and cardboard shipping case are in perfect condition. There are no scratches, blemishes or even a turn line on the cylinder of the revolver. I suspect it was never fired.
