Ok, it has been out a while. Who has one and how would you rate it?
I picked up a SR40 about a year ago and absolutely love this gun.
Trigger was a bit gritty at first but after about 50 rounds the grittiness went away.
I have seen the compact but have not shot one.
Thou shalt not covet. Sorry, I am having trouble with this commandment.

I have had mine for less then a week. I have run around 90 rounds through her so far.
The trigger is the same as the full size, gritty at first and has been smoothing out.
A little more felt recoil then the full size but it's just like the felt difference from the SR9 to the 9c (in 9mm) :D
Size wise it's darn near the same as the 9c. One can tell it's a little heavier and the slide is a tad wider but she fits the same holsters as her sister the 9c.
I have replaced my 9c as my go to gun with the 40c so I'm happy. 8)
And other them myself I think Galloway said he has one and was going to produce a video. Not the same welcome that the other new Rugers have had. The group is all partied out :?: :?:

Lateck,

I was wondering what happened to the usual chatter on the new guns. I figured this would be the Holy Grail for many, such has been the great reception of the 9c. Just have to pull together the funds now. As a twenty year 40 shooter, I had been waiting for the 40c ever since the full size 40 and the 9c came out. Regarding the latter, great gun--just figured the 40c would be more of a good thing. Maybe why such little fuss?

It's just a slighly smaller SR40 (or a different caliber SR9C) .... what's to really talk about ? :D

Well, let's see, the 9c is only a slightly smaller 9, and regarding every bit of minutiae, every other little screw, color, sights, length, weight, grip change on just about every other gun on the planet seems to be the subject of great--sometimes inordinate--chatter...??

Feel free to chatter away !!!

That's what the forum is here for !

I was just speculating as to why the lack of fuss, which is what you inquired about.

And I actually don't entirely disagree with your assessment. It's just that I've regularly seen more talk on a lot more minor issues. Pro or con, I think most will agree the 9 and .40 are--or can be--entirely different animals as to how any particular gun or shooter will respond, best loads, felt recoil, what have you.

There wasn't much chatter when the SR-40 was introduced either. The SR line has been around for a while now. They are just filling it out with the standard service calibers.

If I didnt already have a 9c and a P944 I would probably have a 40c now. I just cant justify getting it when I have these other 2. If I only had one of them then I would have the 40c to go along with it. Too many other guns to spend all my money on first lol.

Then why do we have a complete section on the SR1911? It's just a remake.. nothing new......  :D

OK, I know. :D :D
I am suprised by so LITTLE intrest in the SR40c

Lateck,

I don't care for .40's so I don't care that much about the SR40 or C, but I know a lot of people do, so I'm not really sure about everyone else. I just know why I don't care that much.

Ditto ... I'll never own another one ... if you want a .40 .... get a REAL .40 ... a 10MM ....

I'd trade my P944 for a 9mm P94 in a second if I knew anyone that had one and wanted to trade.

Lateck,
Ahh, well I just tried to load the vid and youtube said I have to have it less than 10 minutes.... technology. Oh well I'll redo it tomorrow and give it a try. Mine is black on black by the way.

Haven't had a chance to try it yet. Waiting for a mountain lion or bear in the back yard..

I have my SR9 loaded with Buffalo Bore 115 grain +P+. BB seems like hot stuff, plus at least my 9mm rounds, can't speak for the others, are loaded using nice Speer Gold Dot bullets.

Lateck,
Actually, Gunblast.com and Hickok45 reviews got me very interested. The former said it's the best shooting compact .40 he's ever fired. And many others agree. Just something about the SR40 / SR40c design that handles that .40 better with less muzzle flip. I've now seen what he means watching some YouTube vids.
