After several months of talking the wife said yes to a SR22. After calling a few lgs's I found one, we went this morning to get it. She put it in her name not what I had planned. Jerry ln MI.

Hey Jerry! Maybe she wants to shoot! E
ither way, it's a win win situation for you! Now you have it! Have fun! It's a great little pistol!!

Great little pistol, got mine at Williams in Davison the first week they came out. They are super easy to take down and clean and they run flawlessly on just about any ammo. They are a lot of fun to shoot, you can burn up a whole bunch of ammo fast especially if you have four or five extra magazines for it.

How does it it handle subsonic? .. appears that here in CA, it is all we can find.

I guess because last week I came home with a Springfield XD40 sub compact she felt it was her turn to buy. Jerry

I tried the CCI Quiet sub sonic in my Sr22p and it would not cycle them, they were not vary accurate or quiet either, they might have done better if i adjusted sights but i don't want to shoot any more of them, they didn't do well in SP101-22 either. Every other type of 22 LR ammo has run in it without any problems.

The RUGER® SR22TM PISTOLS are compatible with all factory
ammunition of the correct caliber loaded to U.S. Industry Standards, including
high-velocity and hollow-point loads. However, sub-sonic or match-grade
ammunition may not have sufficient energy to cycle the slide.
If you find that the
slide does not cycle fully, try another brand of ammunition.

the winchester and remington subsonic so far works in mine but not the cci. the only sure way to tell is try a box of each if your lucky enough to find some. Enjoy your sr22!!!

My wife has a SR22 and loves it. She will fire it as fast as I can keep the mags full of new rounds. My mother in law also purchased one last month after she obtained her carry permit. It is a great gun.

My SR22 runs great! I have other Rugers and I bought the SR22 and knew it would run great because of my experience with the other Rugers. If you don't have one, but can find one to buy, DO IT! RUGER® SR22TM PISTOLS are compatible with all factory
ammunition of the correct caliber loaded to U.S. Industry Standards, including
high-velocity and hollow-point loads. However, sub-sonic or match-grade
ammunition may not have sufficient energy to cycle the slide.
