This is a great old model flattop "Type 1" Blackhawk .357 Mag with all the correct early features (serrated ER button, capped base pin latch nut, narrow land base pin, well-curved skinny trigger, pointer on rear sight elevation screw). From second year of Blackhawk production, 1956, with 4-digit serial number from roughly mid-year by sequence, though I don't know the ship date (likely made prior to the very first .44 flattop later that year). Condition is excellent in the 98-99% condition range. There is some extremely minor holster wear in the usual spots (left muzzle, tip of ERH, front edge of cylinder) and the left grip eagle is missing 50% of the black paint. A few minor signs of being 63 years old. Not converted, bright bore with sharp rifling, smooth old model 4-click action. Outstanding collector grade type 1 flattop.
