SPF: S&W 5-Screw K-22 Masterpiece w/Phantom II

Nice tight post-war 5-screw S&W K-22 Masterpiece with 6" barrel and Bushnell Phanton II 2.5X scope. Gun has some wear consistent with its age, thin blue on high edges, muzzle, cylinder, extractor rod. Quality old P&R Smith with good bore and mechanics. Scope has caps shown in last pic, strap still there but not visible.

Do you have the rear sight for it?

I love K-22's so I'm interested. But I don't know how that scope mount works. Is it a clamp on or does it go in the rear sight position or is it a drill and tap? Any idea what it would look like with the scope and mount removed? And what happened to the rear sight?

I do not have the rear sight. There is one D/T hole in the sight channel. The scope mount uses two studs, one screwed into the D/T hole and one slid into the back of the sight channel. The studs are tapered, wider at the top. The two studs slip into two holes in the bottom of the sight base, then the 4 smaller Allen head screws are tightened to clamp the base to the studs. The top of the base and bottom of scope are dovetailed and there are two half-round notches in the bottom of the scope that align with the larger holes in the base. So the dovetail holds the scope down and prevents side-t-side movement, and the upper hex head screws keep it from sliding fore/aft.

Seems really, really strong for a .22 and also really, really complicated for anything.
