<SPF> LNIB Type 4 Ruger Single Six Flatgate, 22 LR, 5.5" bbl. S/N is 55787 which puts is in late 56/early 57. Gun has been fired but does not appear to be very much at all. Grips are in great shape, with one panel starting to turn dark chocolate brown. Bore is great, lock up is tight, timing is spot on. The only minor flaw I found is a very small nick on the right side of the barrel, near the muzzle, as seen in the pictures. Gun is 100% original with the original lockwork (ie has not been sent back for the safety conversion). Box shows some edge wear and is a bit dirty, but is whole and solid, and numbered to the gun. Has original September, 1956 dated 4-gun manual, part of the warranty card (with string still attached), and the scarce, but correct, NRA American Rifleman subscription card that Ruger included with guns of that period.
These Type 4 flatgates are getting harder and harder to find in such nice condition, especially with the original box and papers. This is just a great package.
