Sold pending payment...This one needs to go to fund some other projects that are pending. Harton custom vaqureo bisley with 3 cylinders, chambered in .38-40, 10mm and 40 S&W. Case colored hammer and frame, dovetail front sight, free spin pawl, locking Keith style base pin and some beautiful custom walnut grips by Alan. Marked "Single Action Service". This revolver should be a fun shooter with lots of versatility from mild to wild and should be capable of handling heavy .38-40 loads.

Alan does not accept Ruger work any longer so this is your chance! I just picked it up and have not even fired it.

Guys, if you have ever considered having a custom revolver done then save yourself a ton of money and time and grab this gun. Alan’s work is some of the best you will find and like mentioned he isn’t doing Ruger work any longer.

Having a hard time understanding why this is still here. I have a couple of Alan's guns otherwise I'd be emptying the trucks ash tray and flipping the sofa cushions for change or even tossing out trade ideas out for this one. This is the type and quality of work Alan does when he builds a custom revolver. This was a standard Ruger bisley that I had Alan totally re-machine to duplicate the Freedom Arms top strap so I could use Freedom Arms sights and scope mounts. He is as much a metal artist as he is a gunsmith and to have one of his Ruger's is to have a piece to pass down to ones son or daughter.

Deal of the week right there guys. I know many folks just can’t see doing major modifications to a perfectly usable gun like a Ruger Blackhawk or Vaquero but the fact is IF you have ever wanted to have a revolver built just the way you wanted it built, your options of well know builders is shrinking. As these artisans age they are either retiring like Jim Stroh or limiting what they are willing to take on like Hamilton Bowen or Alan Harton.

In other words, if you have dreamed about having a certain gun built by a particular gunsmith you may be limited to guns already built rather than commissioning your own. Personally I think everyone should have at least one gun built just they want it just for the heck of it and for something to hand down when we are gone.

Just some thoughts from one who is getting closer to the of the journey than just starting out on this adventure we call life.
