I am offering a Czech-made M98 Mauser in 8X57mm with 29-inch barrel, produced for a contract for Turkey in the 1920s. The rifle has been arsenal rebuilt at some point, and none of the numbers match. There is some very minor rust pitting in scattered areas under the reblue, but nothing significant. The bore is absolutely mint; I seriously doubt if this rifle was ever fired (after rebarreling) before it was put into storage! The stock displays an absolutely beautiful tiger stripe for a nearly its entire length. It is currently finished in what looks like Tru-Oil. A little bit of work would easily yield the true beauty of this striking piece of walnut! The stock does display a few warts - dents and small gouges commensurate with it's age, but no cracks that I can see. Rifle comes with cleaning rod and rear QD sling swivel. I will sell this rifle for $350 delivered to either a 01 or 03 (C&R) FFL in CONUS. Shipment to Alaska and Hawaii are possible, but will incur additional cost. Might trade for a Finn Mosin Nagant or a 12 gauge coach gun. Might consider other trades; the worst I can do is respectfully decline, so go ahead and ask.
