Ron, is that an older model with the Colt type action, or the newer safety conversion thingy?

I have one of these with the black powder frames. Mine employee the safety mechanism in the cylinder pin. Pushed all the way in and the hammer can’t fall forward enough to contact a cartridge. Not sure they all had this, but you can just swap a colt pin in there and the safety is gone. Fun revolvers, mine has a 45acp cylinder as well.

Great price here on this one.

This one modeled after the original and has no safety features, it's the "load one, skip one, load four, lower hammer" The manual shows the cylinder pin safety and the other types that are used but specifically state that this model has no safety features. Also, my pictures really don't show how this gun really looks, it is great.

Some models have a safety in the trigger. There's a linkage that firms up the firing pin. My El Pardron has the double notched cylinder pin.
