Single-Sixer
This revolver started life as a 1981 Ruger Security Six, catalog number RDA-34 (blued, 4-inch barrel, adjustable sights). Soon after I purchased it, I rounded the butt of the grip frame to the contours of the Ruger Speed Six and had Mahovsky apply their Metalife finish, which has the appearance of satin finish stainless and is extremely durable and protective.
Although over 30 years old, the gun looks brand new. It has the Ruger factory red insert in the front sight. The rear is a white outlined Ruger factory blade. I fired it a couple of hundred times and then it ended up back in the safe, where except for an outing or two, it has sat for 30+ years. Now it is time to let someone else enjoy it.
It is wearing Pachmayr Presantation / Compac grips (in the Speed Six configuration), and the original Ruger wooden grips (rounded to Speed Six configuration) are also included.
Also included is the original 1981 black, yellow, and red box, along with the original outer shipper box. The box contents from 1981 include an Owner Registration card, a Gun World magazine subscription form, and a “If guns are outlawed...” bumper sticker. Sorry, no Owners Manual.
