SOLD THRU ANOTHER VENUE

Ruger Number One, Model 1-V ("Varminter"), single-shot rifle (falling block action), .223 Remington, 24-inch heavy barrel. Manufactured in 1984, but was part of a display and was unfired or very little fired before I purchased it in 2011 from a listing on this forum. Since then, I have fired approximately 250 rounds, mostly off a bench rest at the range. There may be a few very minor marks somewhere, but the rifle is virtually as new. Beautiful walnut stocks. Comes with Ruger's proprietary scope rings, original sling swivels (currently in a baggie), original manual, and original factory box. Also included, a 2005 Ruger factory letter on the gun, and a letter from the original owner explaining how the gun was part of a display for many years. (I will provide scanned copies of these documents on request to serious potential buyers.) Price: $950 without the scope (but the rings will stay with the rifle), or $1200 with the mounted scope, PLUS actual shipping costs to buyer's FFL by USPS Priority Mail Express (unless another shipping method is mutually agreed to). Buyer's FFL must accept shipment from a non-dealer. I live in Maryland.

The scope is an excellent Bushnell Elite 4200, 6-to-24 power, Adjustable Objective, fine crosshairs reticle, with detachable sunshade. Again, I will sell the rifle either with or without the scope, but in either case, the scope rings will stay with the rifle.

Payment by USPS money order, unless another payment method is mutually agreed to before the deal is sealed. I have made purchases on this forum but this is my first for-sale offering. I have extensive history on Gunbroker as douglas51, on ebay as douglas1951, and on the Smith & Wesson Collectors Association forum as ddeanjohnson.

To the top . . . regarding trade offers, I collect S&W revolvers that are more than 50 years old. Also, single-shot pistols of many eras and makers.

Surprised nobody has bought that..............I realize the .223 is not remotely rare, but still, a basically new 30 year old rifle, on a site with a bunch of Ruger "nuts"..........LOL!!!

Guess I will be holding on to all my 1Vs if this is what I could expect.........LOL!!!
