Single-Sixer
For sale is a FN shooter grade Hi-Power chambered in 9mm. Early serial 009XX
This pistol is pre-owned and in very good re-finished (all are) condition with no signs of handling or use afterward! This pistol is a 1961 Police issue from the Province of Buenos Aires. Buenos Aires purchased around 8,000 Hi-Power pistols in 1961, hence the marking POLICIA PROV. BS. AIRES-61. They served the Buenos Aires police until the mid-1990's. There was no Argentine involvement in its manufacture.
Original FM re-blue over a polished surface with some typical pitting showing underneath. Has early Hi-Power features.
The crest on top is the Coat of Arms of the Buenos Aires police. The coat of arms is the Argentine arms, but the police CoA's are surrounded by a shield - a police badge. Matching numbers & the sights are referred to as combat sights.
There are few marked "DIV. INTERNA SEC." The marking - (translated) Division of Internal Security and this one has it. This unit handled intelligence matters and if the government didn't like you, these guys would come and show you their nifty Hi-Powers. These are certainly an important part of Hi-Power history, and John Moses Browning's last design.
This pistol includes THREE SETS of grips. It also includes the original box, two 13rd magazines, paper work & receipt from the original purchase in 1998 (from SOG).
This is a genuine FN, manufactured in Belgium. It is not the FM. Been sitting in my safe for the last 20 years and un-fired all that time. Please see pictures.
Included Grips:
1. Graig Spegal/Brownells White Micarta by Navidrex - very thin (no longer available & darned expensive)Mahogany (original style) Wood
2. Brownell's Mahogany (original style) Wood
3. Craig Spegal/Uncle Mike's - very thin (as shipped, no longer available & danged expensive) Originals from SOG
$850 shipped from Phoenix, AZ.
