6 1/2 RSSMX practically new in the box. Serial number D503xxx. Some of you may have seen my post a while back in collecting. I really wanted to keep this one, but have other priorities. Letter from Ruger states that it shipped June of 1968 as a model RSSMX duplicate serial number. Asking $650 FTF in North Alabama or $675 shipped.

Don't find them much nicer then this. If you want one of these "D" guns you will kick yourself one of these days if you don't buy this. :?

I am interested in purchasing this. I just have a couple of questions about it. Is the LR cyl. scribed 585 and is the Mag. cyl. inscribed? If so with what no.s.? I am asking because I own a D gun and it only came with the Mag. cyl. and is marked and it matches the SN of the gun. It's SN is D501728. As I understand it the LR cyl. should be the one engraved with the SN but mine has the Mag cyl. engraved and is correct to the gun and did not come with a LR cyl..? It is a bit confusing. Basically are the cylinders engraved? If so do they/it match the gun?

Thanks

Karl

By the time these guns were made both cylinders were engraved with the last 3 digits of the serial number. Only the first year or two when the convertibles were first made they only engraved one cylinder. These 500,000 serial numbered guns would have both cylinders engraved as they were made in 1968.

I sure haven't read that anywhere but it does make sense. Mine has a .22mag cyl. with the SN engraved, and I knew when I bought it, it would not have a .22LR cyl. with it. So, that being said should this have the SN engraved on both cylinders?

Also, sure wouldn't mind finding the correct .22lLR cyl. for the one I own now??? That would be 728.

Thanks

Karl

GG: It will definately be in Fredricksburg at the get together. Can't recall if you are going to be able to make it. This one makes about 15 different .22s that I'll take with me. 8)

Everybody on this board is invited. This will be our 4th year to do it. There is lots of info. on it at the top of the Lounge page.

Just to let everyone know. Both cylinders have the last 3 #s of the sn on them. I hope that 737tdi is happy with this very nice revolver package. If I did not have more important priorities pressing at this time this one would be staying in my safe.
