There was no interesting cloud formations, smog or anything to spice things up...so I stopped 'er down to f45, cranked the shutter speed up to 1/8000 and iso down to 100 and put my back to the sun, lined the shaddow of the lens up till it was minimized and the light from the viewfinder shone brightly on the ground, thereby indicating the sun was centered in the viewfinder.
