What slings are you using on your 10/22 mannlichers? I just got a NIB one and don't want to ding up the stock with the swivels. I have seen people with RUGER branded ones in red writing but never seen them for sale.

Thanks for your time.

If you don't want the sling on it all the time there is a easy way to protect the stock. Take apiece of thin leather, deer hide works real goo, about three four inches long as wide as the swivel. Cut about 3/4s of the length down to about the width of the swivel. Then cut a slit the same width as the narrow end in remaining wide portion about a 1/4 inch or so from the end. Run the leather through the swivel, then narrow end through the slit in the leather and pull tight. Works real good.

As for a sling the ruger sling is not available. But most all nylon slings can have the swivel clips removed and you can run the nylon through the swivels on the gun and then back through the buckles on the sling.

went through the process when I put a sling on my international.

I like the 'Super Sling', easily adjusted, in-expensive, and made in USA. but, since the swivel on the front of the Ruger is less than the normal 1 1/4" slings' width, a little research revealed a 'super sling' in 1" width, a perfect fit. The slings are not fancy, but very functional. I got mine at Natchez Shooters Supply. Cabelas and several other outlets, all had the 1 1/4" models, only found the 1" at Natchez.

as mike7mm08 mentioned, you remove the front sling swivel that comes with the sling and use the factory sling loop. the rear one just fits the stud in the stock.

have fun: it is a great rifle, light, compact and fun to shoot.
