Currently a local volume gun 'superstore' (10,000 guns in stock) here near Atlanta is offering the SR40c that as we know, comes with both the extended and short magazines for 389.00 plus tax. I am thinking that I can use the short mag for CCW (known as GWL, Georgia Weapons License, here in Georgia) and the extended for 'normal' use, thus two guns in one. I don't find any fault in my logic but I wanted a second opinion on it.

That is what I usually do, I have one 10 round magazine that I keep loaded with 180Gr hollow points that I use for concealed carry, and I have the original 15 round, plus 2 additional 15 round magazines that I use at the range.

I'm still fighting myself between a 40c and a SR22.

I have a SR9 and 9c, so the 40c woudl be my new carry and I'd 'give" the 9c to the wife, whereas if i bought a SR22 it'd be good for cheap practice and such.

Are you talking about the store in Smyrna? If so, a word of advice - don't go there to buy a firearm on the weekend, that place is a zoo! My office is about 2 miles from there and I find it a little too convenient if you know what I mean.

That was my plan when I bought my SR9c. After a number of trips to the range, I decided that I needed to practice with the same configuration that I carried. Granted, there is not a huge difference between the way the weapon handles with the two different mags, but that was my thinking. I have gotten used to the 10 round, and now I sort of prefer it. I never use my 17 round mag now, but keep it in case I find that I need to start carrying an extra mag.

I also find that I use ammo too quickly with a 17 round mag at the range. With the larger mag, I will go through 100 rounds before I know what has happened.

Thank you! I'm new to the Atlanta area and looking for a new shop similar to my last (Buds).
