I've been wanting some scrimshaw done on my ivory grips. I finally talked to an artist and handed over the ivory from one of my Harton guns. She used a photograph I took about ten years ago for reference. I'm very pleased with the results.

If Short Barrel is the one with the scrimshaw of a standing grizzly on a stainless short barrel bisley, I agree with you 100%. That scrimshaw is fantastic.

That is the member I am thinking of MT. I bought a set of schrimshawed grips form him a year or so ago and they are down at John Gallaghers waiting to go on a New Vaquero 41 mag project.

I didn't realize Short Barrel did work other than for himself, the work he's posted is wonderfull. His posts here are what caused me to start thinking I needed some scrimshawed grips.

The lady who did my scrimshaw is local, in Kerrville (80 miles is local here in Texas...right?). I've been admiring her work for the past fifteen years and finally decided to take the plunge.

I don't think he does work for others but he decided to sell a set of grips that were scratched on one side so I bought them and talked him into doing something on the other side as well. I need to call John and see how the projects are coming so maybe I can get an idea how much longer on the guns he is working on for me.
