Bought a scope to mount on my .243 heavy barrel flat bolt. The rings are way too short for the 1" body 8.5-25x50mm front optic lens to clear the barrel.
What height and brand rings do you suggest I need and where is a good place to buy them?
Thanks

Ruger rings will accommodate your scope. For the M77 Ruger makes 3 height sets of rings.

rear....front
4B ......3B = Low up to 32MM
5B.......4B = Medium up 42MM
6B.......5B = High up to 52MM

Midway USA usually has Ruger Rings in stock, but a search on the Internet should turn up a few sets.

Don't know about Leupold rings but believe they run slightly different heights and are not mixable w/ Ruger rings. I have never had an issue with Ruger rings and any weight difference would be very small. If you have Ruger rings on it now you only need to buy one ring. Move your rear ring to the front and replace the rear with next higher size.

If they are new individually packaged rings Ruger will exchange them for free.
