I could use some advise on good reloads for a 10.5" SBH at 100 yards. I am using 2400 powder with Hornady 200 grain XTP's. I am almost out of the Hornady's and am shopping for new and better things. I found that 22 grains of 2400 worked well but need to load even lower as I started up at 24.5 grains and worked down. There was a huge difference when I loaded the 22 grains and I need to try 21.5 or 21.

I am looking at purchasing the Remington 210 grain SJHP or the Montana 240 grain SJHP as I can buy both in bulk.

Any advise on good accurate loads for 100 yards with the 10.5" SBH would be greatly appreciated.

The Remington 240gr JSP makes a nice economical sport shooting and even good hunting bullet. Midway has free shipping on 2000 sometimes. I like max charges of H-110 and Accurate #9 powders. :D :D

I bought 240 grain Remington JHP. I have 2400 powder so will start around 17 or 17.5 grain for 100 yard accuracy.

Does any one have a good load for 240 gr JHP with 2400 podwer for a 10.5" SBH?

I have very good experiences with 300 grain bullets, LBT designed flat point, gas checked. I load them over 21.5 or 22.0 gr. of WW-296 and crimp the heck out of them. CCI-350 primers.

PS My 10-1/2" Super has the early version's tapered barrel.

I had one of the "bull barrel" versions but traded it to a buddy. Awesome gun and it probably out shot my "tapered barrel" example, but...... friends are friends.....

Thanks for the info.

I am really looking for some specific reload information for the Remington 240 grain JHP. Remington does not publish data for their bullets and there is a multiple of differing data from the various bullet manufactures.

Any one got a good reload for the 10 1/2 inch Super Black Hawk using 240 grain Remington JHP and Alliant 2400 powder?

How about the same Remington 240 JHP with W296?

The problem I see is that Alliant says the a 240 grain JSP should use a maximum of 18.7 grains of 2400. Sierra, Speer, and Swift all start their minimum load recomendations greater than the Alliant maximum! Hornady starts their loads at 17.4 but they run all the way to 21.2. HELP?

I have been loading the Remington 210 gr JHP bulk bullets using data for Speer 210 gr GDHP/Deepcurl. I get same point of impact out to 50 yards. I have not compared them any further, but expect them to be the same. If you don't have Speer #14 and don't want to buy it, call customer service. I talked to Linda and she emailed me a scan of the .44 Rem mag chapter of Speer #14. She also explained the Gold Dot vs Deepcurl thing. Short version, for handgun bullets, the Gold Dots in hunting weights have been renamed Deepcurl. Same bullet construction.
