In the gun library, a perfect #1 in. 45-70 with a long, long Lyman scope. I forget the price but if I were a #1 collector I would have brought it home!

Update: I just looked for it on the Cabela's web site and don't see it. Wonder if it sold today. Hope so, I'd hate to start thinking about it and get so's I had to have it.

Did it have engraving on the receiver? The made two editions of the Lyman Commemorative like that, almost all had woood presentation cases too.

Sorry, I can't tell you. It was on a bottom shelf and I was trying to look at it through the guns on the top glass shelf. I don't remember any engraving, but I was looking chiefly at the great wood and the scope. I wouldn't have known that it was a Lyman, but the card mentioned it. It had an octagonal barrel and was not in a case, though it might have been lying on top of one. The scope was about the full length of the barrel.

It was instant lust, but I had already blown my budget on a set of winter underwear. That was a good buy, too.

Hi It was probley the one they had at east hartford Ct sat there for sometime they were asking around $2400 I see they must have moved a bunch of guns to different stores I have one but I have never seen one with an octagon barrel

I got the one from Hartford. They were looking to move and got it for a very good price. Best Cabelas I have ever dealt with.
