RUGER Stag/Ivory Authentication

Lots have been written about stag and ivory stocks, specifically......are they factory or not. Doc4429 was kind enough to share his much valued knowledge on the subject in another post. if I understood correctly Ruger letters are probably non existent verifying such. That being the case, how does one verify "factory" or not. It is known Ruger used several manufacturers for ivory and stag panels which may explain some of the differences seen. Still, they are Ruger "factories". Anyone have a letter?

With one or two possible exceptions, there are NO Factory letters on stag and ivory grips. Verification depends on known history and/or "expert" opinion. "Expert" opinions are based on knowledge, experience and having looked at and owned a bunch and then it may be just that; an opinion.

It would be interesting to come up with that blueprint that must have been sent to the vendors for manufacture of those panels. That's got to be out there somewhere.
