What do you all think about the Ruger? I went back and looked and didn't find any posts on it, but could have missed one. I looked at one yesterday at my LGS and I kind of like the looks of it, and it is different. Thanks for any comments or opinions on the new rifle.

There was a thread on it a couple months ago.... search won't work (try again later...). Anyhow, there was a youtube video where some guy "reviewed" it, and shot one type of ammo. The results were less than impressive for a "precision" rifle.

Here's another review where he tried several different types of ammo, and the best was about .8 inches at 50 yards.... still not even close to a "precision" rifle.

If you're buying it for the cosmetics, that's fine - but if you want an accurate .22, I'd look elsewhere.

I have read numerous reports of fellers experiencing less than acceptable accuracy with these rifles, but seems in every case, the writer was apologizing for his own lack of shooting skills, poor shooting conditions, or even poor ammo. So, with a good shooter, a good rest, and good ammo, I cannot imagine these rifles would not shoot well. I have a Ruger American Rimfire rifle, and have shot another, and they are incredibly accurate. There's no reason the same rifle in a fully adjustable stock would not shoot well.

I would also like to read some further reports on these.

There's a lot of hands-on experience posted over at RFC
