I currently have a Ruger American Rifle in .243 I use for deer, hog and such. I noticed Ruger had come out with the Ruger Precision Rifle chambered in a .243. They are offered in .308, 6.5, and .243. I am just curious as to why would .243 be one of the three options. I can see the 308 and the 6.5, but I would think that he .243 would not have enough kinetic energy beyond 300 yrds or out to 1000yrds.
Any thoughts? Thanks
