As a rule, I do not purchase the new firearms when they first come out. I wait a year and let them get the kinks worked out. I did get caught in the Mark IV issue though. Just had to get the Hunter. But Ruger makes things right when they find an issue. I got a free magazine for sending them my Mark IV. I waited several years before purchasing the Scout Rifle because I figured they would eventually have to make the composite stocks and some other things. And they did.
