Ruger P345 problems

Hello I have a Ruger P345 the last few time I took it to the range when I was shooting the gun failed to go into full battery, it would kind of just get stuck and I would have to push it forward with my thumb. Does anyone know what causes this and how I can fix it without having to send it into Ruger? Its lubed and cleaned very well, I shoot federal 230 grain, I evem purchased and installed a heavier recoil spring and it still does it sometimes. This also happens with or without a magazine or ammo. I have a video showing what i talking about.

Does the P345 go into Battery at Normal Operational speed? If it does, I would not worry about it.........................

Chief_10Beers is right. Does this happen during the firing cycle, or just when loading the first round? Do you slingshot the slide when loading, or slowly ride the slide into battery? Just like the video, this problem can be reproduced with a number of semi's if you lower the slide slowly. Guns are tough and slides are made to move quickly and violently. Pull it back fully and release it to chamber the first round.

I agree, never slowly ride the slide into battery, however the only way i could duplicate your video with my P-345 was by slowly chambering a round. With no ammo and with or without a mag and with decock up or down it would go completely into battery every time, the pistol had fired 125 rounds and was less than clean. My P-345 has had the MDS removed, don't know if that would make any difference, this pistol has performed flawlessly from day one.

Yeah it happens when im shooting, thats how i first noticed it. Id be firing the pistol and every now and again id go to pull the trigger and it would just click and noticed it was out of battery and i would have to push it forward.

I had a P345 for a while and it did this for the first few mags, during firing. I just pushed it into battery several times and after about 75 rounds or so it didn't do it again. I always felt the recoil spring was too weak to start with though, replaced it once with a new factory, but it was no where close to any of my 1911's, Glocks etc. If it did it for more than a few mags I would send it back to Ruger. On your video it looks like to me a rough place somewhere in the slide/barrel fit maybe??

That was happening with mine. I thought it might be that the magazine disconnect was adding a little extra resistance each time the slide went forward. So I took it out to just to see. The problem stopped.

I did not mind the magazine disconnect too much as a safety feature, but when I saw that it was hanging up the action -- I had no qualms about removing it.
