I'm going to build my own 1H in 44mag.

Does anyone know who makes a D weight barrel in 44cal with a 1/20 twist rate?

Gotta find a barrel 1st. Looking at shooting 300grain and above! HARDCAST!

I have a similar pistol cartridge #1 but in 41 mag. I had it punched out from a SS after-market barrel on a 1V profile project gun I came by. It was way too long and muzzle heavy as a .22 Hornet when I got it. And I already own a 1B Hornet that shoots the lights out.

So I had it cropped to 21" and rechambered and bored to 41 mag. The foreend still needs to be shortened and made a lot slimmer to improve the balance and looks but it will make into a nice 100 yard deer gun. The demand for such packages should rise here as suburban sprawl eventually sees limits on rifle calibers in areas where Mcmansion incursions impinge on deer woods.
