My intent when purchasing it was to make a sort of smokeless 45-90. I am a big fan of the 1-H ... my 375 H&H is my favorite rifle out of a dozen No. 1's.

HOWEVER ... there is the 1-H and then there is the 1-H. I didn't know that the 458 had the "D" weight barrel, and it sure makes the difference between a rifle I'd hunt with, and a rifle I wouldn't.
