This gun has a 6 1/2" barrel, is a .357 with the 9mm cylinder. It shows that it is a convertible from the factory (I called Ruger). The gun is in very nice condition except for some blueing wear at the muzzle. It has the original box but it is in poor shape. It also has the box and cloth bag for the extra cylinder. Any idea what this revolver might be worth?

New ones sell for $429 or so here (non convertibles are $399). I'd say $325-$350 is probably the best you would get. I've bought several at gun shows for $300 and under. They were probably not as nice though.

You're probably right.... I was basing my guess on the fact that a '74 model wouldn't have that blasted lawyer speak on the side of the barrel, and it would have a degree of polish than the newer models do.

If I were buying, I'd rather have this one than a brand new current offering.

Ok... I kinda thought the $400 was a good range. My buddy does too from what whe have seen around here in Mo. (our area anyway). He thinks he is gonna list it for $425 obo

Average Joe and many gunshops don't know that though. I'd rather have that one than a brand new one, but I wouldn't pay more for it than a new one. If it had been made two years earlier, I would pay more for it.

I am not gonna list it on here for him. He said he would rather do a local deal so he doesnt have to mess with shipping. He is gonna list it at $425 OBO cash FTF.
