ruger matte blu rings

I'm a proud possessor of Hawkeye matte stainless 358 Win with 22" barrel.
It came with the matte stainless rings but i'm not going the stainless scope route.
I initially wanted to put a 2x7 Redfield Revolution scope on top but the action is to long for the mounting surfaces on this little Redfield.
I'm considering exchanging with Ruger for a set of Hawkeye matte blu rings (90278).

My question is......how close is the Ruger Hawkeye matte blu to Leupold's matte scope finish?
Any experience is appreciated.

I see where Ruger offers an offset ring in blue and stainless but not Hawkeye matte blu......shucks.

I match the rings with the action, not the scope. If that scope is too short for a short action rifle, what is it supposed to fit?
