Ruger M77 vs. CZ 550 questions

Looking for a used (new-to-me) rifle in .30-06 and have found a CZ 550 in near new condition for $400 out the door. I have several CZ rimfire rifles that I really enjoy and they're super accurate...but no experience with CZ centerfire rifles. I own a stainless M77 in .308 that have hunted with for about 10 years of years but I'm hoping to add a blued rifle in .30-06 to my collection to tinker/hunt with. Any thoughts comparing the CZ 550 with the M77 rifles? Is $400 about the right price range or is it high/low? Does anyone here have experience with these rifles?

$400 is a great price for a clean 550. The trigger on the CZ's are very nice, overall they are very similar to the M77 with the Mauser type action.

I have 2 CZ Model 550's . 1 is a 308 with a mannlicher stock and the other is the 550 American in 270 with kevlar stock. Both are very accurate abd have a great trigger. Couple of down side's with the CZ is they are heavy and the action feels rough at first. They do smooth out with useage. $400 is a bargan

I picked it up yesterday for $385 and it came with CZ scope rings. The single set trigger is sweet ...about 3 lbs not set and 1.5 when set....and nice and crisp. Thanks for the advise guys!

HA! You think the trigger is nice now, it is fully adjustable, both on the set and non-set sides. Just don't go too light, esp. for hunting. The CZ rings that I have seen are really high, as the folks in Eastern Europe seem to favor the "giraffe position". Leupold, Millett, and Warne make lower rings that will get you down on the stock for a proper cheek weld. My 9.3x62 is a tack driver, and nice to shoot.
