I have its twin and they're about perfect for weight and balance, and I like a light rifle. Mine sits in a standard take off stock so the RSI wood stays pristine and allows for stud mounted accessories.
Before next deer season mine will be wearing Alaska Arms rings- quick detach, repeatable, and lets the owner use the iron sights outside the event of a scope failure. I'd suggest the new owner look into doing the same.
IIRC these were Lipsey's exclusive with around 500 of each chambering made and anything under $1500 in any condition is a good deal. They also made 7x57, 6.5x55, 250 Savage I think, maybe 257 Roberts but don't quote me on that- and of those I think, without bias as I shoot and load for all of them, the 7-08 is the best choice.
Somebody is gonna be happy with this one.
