Got a question, it sure looks to me that the wood was refinished. Are you the original owner and if so was the stock refinished? Also how does it shoot?
What year mfr is it? If you don't know you can post the the serial number and substitute # for the last 4 digits and we can look up. Also does it have open sites?

When I got it, it had almost 1/8" of varnish on it (seriously) it was everywhere. Floor plate, grip cap, butt pad, and looked like someone had applied it with a pine top. I stripped it, and applied 7 coats of true oil, (no stain) and hand rubbed it. I bead blasted the floor plate and trigger guard, and painted them. I am not original owner,It shoots great. Date of mfr could be 1979 or 1980, #74-58xxx. No open sites.
