Ruger LCP Question

I looked in the book, and I tryed the search to no avail, does any one know if it's ok to dry fire? Also just bought a new lcp and the barrel is black, I've seen a lot of pictures of them including the picture on the manual and the barrel looks stainless, is the one I got stainless or carbon steel? Why the change? Is one better then the other?

After calling ruger I figured I would share the answeres to the questions I had ask. It is ok to dry fire, And as far as the barrel goes it's the same barrel but now it's blued. It is not stainless, they said some type of alloy.
